SODA SPRINGS

Soda Springs has a rich history starting when the Pioneers headed west for California and Oregon. Due to the abundance of springs and water in the area, Soda Springs became known as the "Oregon Trail Oasis." The famous Steam Boat Springs and Hooper Springs, which was originally called "Beer Springs,"  were some of the main sites to be seen by the earlier settlers and travelers as well as the many sulfurous springs that many pioneers journaled about the smell coming from the them. The City later became famous in 1937 when a well was being drilled in search of hot water for a bath house that unleashed what is known as the Geyser, which is the only captive Geyser in the world.

Soda Springs has an abundance of recreational opportunities for individuals and families. Sure many of the bigger cities have every store you could ever want within 20 minutes, but Soda Springs has something that other communities dream of; unlimited recreational opportunities all right in town or within 20 minutes of town!

Want to play golf or disc golf? Soda Springs has a 9-hole golf course at the west entrance of town and an 18-hole disc golf course 5 minutes from downtown on the east side of town.

Want to go camping? Soda Springs have camping starting 15 minutes from town, with most camping being near a creek, river or reservoir.

Looking for a good walk or run with beautiful scenery? You have the option of a half a dozen or more paths that start right within the City and many rural roads that run along the mountains and surrounding reservoirs and creeks.

Looking for a leisure country drive? You can take a country drive less than 10 minutes from town with hours of backroads and beautiful scenery to take you on an adventure.

Looking for shopping opportunities? Soda Springs has many local businesses and vendors to take care of your every day needs with "big-city" shopping within an hour drive and some of the most beautiful views to accompany you on the drive.

OUR STORY

The JR Inn has been family owned an operated since 1965.  We've been through a few updates and renovations along the way, but we work hard to maintain our small town family friendly feel.

REVIEWS

5/5  Wonderful Stay

We have stayed there several times now and it is our favorite place to stay.  Huge rooms, micro fridge, and very friendly staff.  Close to so many outdoor activities if you just want to relax this is the place.  Very happy family.

4/5 Simple Clean

Very clean, simple, no frills.  Fridge, microwave, nice hot bath and nice soft bed!  Right on main street beginning in town from Lava Hot Springs.  Very quiet.

4/5 Great Place to Stay

Soda Springs is a beautiful place to stay.  The JR Inn is centrally located in town and offers modest, clean and quiet rooms at a very reasonable price.  The beds are comfortable and the pillows are not lumpy, a plus while travelling.  The owner is very knowledgeable and directed me to a terrific restaurant to have dinner.  I had one of the best pizzas ever!
